Many lawmakers are pushing for a fourth round of Stimulus Checks, but President Joe Biden has not yet shown any support for it.
Approximately 24+ Senate Democrats sent a letter to President Joe Biden on March 31 2021 urging him to implement recurring payments and automatic unemployment insurance tied to economic conditions. Some Democrats have renamed the payments survival checks rather than stimulus checks.
In the last summer of 2020, more than 150 economists wrote an open letter supporting recurring payments “for as long as necessary.”
Stimulus checks aka Survival Checks have proved effective so far. The Economic Security Project released a report on April 14/2021 that found the direct cash payments to the public have played a critical role in fight against poverty, boosting small-business revenue, and increasing state and local revenues.
“Related Economic results from last year show stimulus checks to be the fastest and most impactful investments helping Americans get through this (Covid-19) crisis, lifting more people out of poverty than any other single policy,” the report said.
